The Upper Unadilla Valley Association, whose mission for nearly 55 years has been to preserve and promote the valley’s natural and historic resources, announced its 2023 awards for historic preservation and conservation.
Steve and Sally Davis of West Winfield are recipients of the Historic Preservation award.
Through the years, the couple has created a homestead along New York State Route 20 using saved portions of historic houses and antique machines.
Their Herkimer County homestead includes a house, outbuildings, and a rebuilt windmill and sawmill.
Ambrosia Farms in West Edmeston has received the Conservation Award.
Located on Otsego County Highway 18, the farm’s annual plant sale that begins May 15 attracts local gardeners, homesteaders and farmers looking for organic and heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers.
