Town Of Kirkland Considers Change In Meeting Time

The Town of Kirkland Board met Monday evening to discuss new business.
Kirkland Senior Center Director Sharleen Machold spoke to the Board about the Senior Center's schedule and plans through the summer.
Town of Kirkland Supervisor Garry Colarusso thanked Machold for her efforts with the Senior Center.
The Board received emails from residents about participating in a solar array program.
"I'm a firm believer in our Planning Board," Colarusso said. "We'll let them sort out what they need to sort out."
Rob Garrity of Finlo Solar Powers spoke with the Board about a project in front of the Planning Board.
Garrity explained the National Grid distribution system, and said Finlo is proposing two projects in Kirkland and there may be room for one more.
The Board approved a resolution approving the Feb. 23 meeting minutes.
One dog was picked up by Animal Control with an impound fee of $270.
Town of Kirkland Police Administrative Officer Shawn Occhipinti reported a new officer started last week.
A speed trailer is getting a solar battery update. Speeding posts are up for repair.
Boardmember Rick Maxam said the Sewer Department is doing float cleaning and maintenance.
A plug on Taylor Avenue required a roto rooter.
The Board held a discussion about changing the Board meeting time, which is at 5 p.m.
The Board is asking for opinions from the public about moving the meeting start times to 5:30 p.m.
The Clinton Figure Skating Club’s Ice Show is scheduled for March 27, 28, and 29.
The Board approved a resolution auditing the payment of bills.
The next Town of Kirkland Board meeting is scheduled for March 23 at 5 p.m.
