The 2012G Storm team won the penalty shootout at the Adirondack Bank Center recently. This event was in honor of the memory of Ava Wood. Richfield Youth Sports was well represented at the Ava Wood Penalty Shootout. hree members of the Richfield Youth Sports 5/6 Soccer team participated with the Mohawk Valley Soccer Club 2012 Girls Storm team. There were six U12 teams participating in the shootout and after a round robin the Storm was in 2nd place and received a bye and a spot in the semifinals. Having won their semifinal match the team moved to the finals in front of 3,000-plus fans during the halftime of the Utica FC Match. The girls delivered and received a signed game ball as their trophy. Congratulations to Katelyn Brown (Westmoreland), Madison Harris (RYS), Olivia Mumpton (Rome), Abby Jones (RYS), Mya Kane (RYS), Gabriella Miller (Westmoreland), Charlie Miller (Westmoreland), back, Brendon Harris (Assistant Coach - RYS), Daniel Mumpton (Head Coach – Rome).
