Speed Signs Slow Down Traffic In Bridgewater

The Town of Bridgewater Board met this month to discuss new business.


The meeting began with a moment of silence in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001.


The Board approved a resolution to accept the August meeting minutes.


A member of the public met with the Board with concerns of speeding within the Town and asked the Board to give thought to a solution.


The resident spoke about how a pickup truck carrying a dump trailer tore through his front lawn recently without stopping and is concerned for the safety of residents.


The Board held a discussion about local traffic, speed zone change requests to the State, and the positive effect the light-up speed signs in Town have when they're working properly.


The Board approved a resolution to issue a building permit for a property.


Jerry Perry said he thought he found a leak and, if so, wants to pull four or five copper pipes and install bigger pipes across the road.


"It's either a leak," Perry said. "Or the pipe was crushed by some farm equipment."


Town Assessor Patricia Terns updated the PRS through the State and emailed Digital Towpath.


A notice was received by New York state about basic STAR exemptions for 65-year-olds.


The Highway Department finished paving and received no offers for the trailer for sale on Facebook Marketplace. ...
