The Town of Kirkland Board met Wednesday evening to discuss new business.
The Board approved a resolution approving the August meeting minutes into Town record.
The Clinton Kirkland Improvement Corporation and DRI Committee spoke with the Board to ask for support in the 2022 Downtown Revitalization Initiative state grant. The Board approved a resolution supporting the CKIC DRI application on behalf of the town and Village of Clinton.
Resident Michael Zelensky spoke with the Board about his wish to see the speed limit on New Street lowered to 25 mph.
Resident Jim Shreevey spoke with the Board about his wish to see more work from the Town done on the Kirkland Trails system.
He pointed out two issues he noticed and submitted an idea for snowmobile signage on the trails.
Chip Bassett of Kirkland Trails said a proposal would be submitted to New York state for a sidewalk along Meadow Street.
The Board approved a resolution for the Sherman Brook Study agreement.
The Board approved a resolution authorizing the 5k Jingle Jog for Nov. 26.
The next Town of Kirkland Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m.
