Park Approved In Bridgewater

The Town of Bridgewater Board recently to discuss new business.

The Board approved a resolution approving the July meeting minutes.

Water Department Supervisor Jerry Perry said the new pump is working good.

Town Assessor Patricia Terns distributed the up to 50% tax exemption for Primary Residence of Surviving Spouse of Police Officers.

The exemption will be distributed to town attorneys for review.

Highway Superintendent Jim Southworth reported paving is completed.

Southworth reviewed the plowing contract and the Board tabled approving the contract.

The Board held a discussion about purchasing a truck.

Boardmember Tom Meininger asked about the paint disposal process.

Town Clerk Rose Wheeldon discussed Elvis impersonator Don Brown performing Aug. 29 in the Town Pavilion.

Doors for the performance open at 4 p.m. and the performance will go until 7 p.m. rain or shine.

Food Trucks will be available.

Town of Bridgewater Supervisor Dale DeKing said the Town will file for a $2,000 grant for music in the park next year.

Boardmember Chris Haar asked about the park project.

DeKing said the State DOT has given the green light to the project.

Town Attorney Matt Fanelli said a case about a property in violation will be moving to the State Supreme Court.

The Board approved a resolution to designate Dale DeKing as the Association of Towns delegate for a Resolution Committee Meeting Sept. 21 and 22.

The Board approved a resolution approving the standard workday for elected officials for the purposes of NYS retirement.

The Board held a discussion about attending the Oneida County Association of Towns meeting Aug. 20.
