Mount Markham Class of 2021 student Mackenzie Sayers was named Youth of the Month for April by the Mount Markham Optimist Club. She is the daughter of Michael and Jessie Sayers of West Winfield. Mackenzie participated in Art Club, Youth Summit and Drama Club and was secretary of her junior class. She was a member of the cross country, track and tennis teams. Out of school she worked at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. She will attend Cazenovia College to study studio art to become an art therapist. She chose art teacher Rebecca Maugeri as her favorite teacher, saying Maugeri has been supportive and helpful in developing her creativity.
