Next CCS Project Outlined

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.
CCSD Superintendent Chris Clancy welcomed new hires Lisa Putnam, Mia Peycke, and Nicholas Barbero.
Clancy then thanked Elizabeth Dougherty for her work with the District as she's resigned to take another job closer to home.
CCS Athletic Director Bob Bentley gave a presentation on how the Athletics Department will contribute to the District Goals.
Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Technology Michelle Gabree- Huba gave a presentation on how the Department of Pupil Personnel Services' goals contribute to the District Goals.
Clancy gave a review of the work needing to be completed for the current capital project, with Phase C beginning in Spring 2026 with remaining funds.
A Facilities Committee meeting determined the use of the funds for the theater's roof replacement and to improve the drainage of the baseball and softball fields.
Clancy then discussed the 2025 Capital Project named Project Strong Foundations.
The Elementary School roof will be replaced, the ES Large Gym will be updated, the Cafeteria parking lot will be reconstructed, air conditioning will be installed in the cafeteria, the Middle School roof will be replaced, the theater parking lot will be reconstructed, the MS Art classroom will be renovated, and air conditioning will be installed in the MS cafeteria.
A public hearing for the project is scheduled for Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. in the Comets Library.
The vote is scheduled for Dec. 9 in the Theater Lobby from 12 to 8 p.m.
Assuming approval, the project design phase will take place between Dec. 10 and March 31, 2026.
Following the NYS Education Department Review, the project will be sent out to bid between May 1 and May 31 with construction expected to begin June 1.
The total cost of the project is $5,255,000.
Clancy then discussed the Hall of Distinction Induction Ceremony. Conrad Bahlke, Brian Carbaugh, Ralph Davison, Mary Elizabeth Kilby, David Marinus Kilby, Mary Ann Lee, and David W. Rudge were inducted to honor their contributions to the District.
Clancy gave a special thank you to the CCSD Foundation. Clancy especially thanked Julia Scranton for her "outstanding coordination and attention to detail organizing the ceremony."
Clancy recognized the CCS School Board for School Board Recognition Week.
Clinton Teachers Association President Wendy Colburn gave a token of appreciation to the Board from the CTA and thanked the Board for their contributions to the District.
