New MM Principal Will Be Chosen Next Month

The Mount Markham Central School District Board of Education met Wednesday night to discuss new business.

MMCSD Superintendent Lauren Crisman reviewed the timeline for the High School Principal hiring process.

The District has received 15 applications and interviews are scheduled for April 24. High School Principal Victor Zampetti is retiring at the end of June.

The Advisory Committee will interview candidates May 1.

Final interviews are expected to be conducted in the third week of May.

Crisman said the goal is to offer a recommendation to Board May 12.

Crisman said the District is compiling the documentation of corrective actions for the Special Education Department suspension review.

The District is reevaluating the comparative suspensions rates between students with disabilities and general education students to identify and mitigate systemic disparities.

Internal procedures are being aligned with State Law to ensure the district of residence maintains its mandate to oversee students, ensuring clear communication and accountability for students.

The District hiring process was updated to ensure brand unity and legal compliance.

District Leaders must verify State credentials/certifications before selecting candidates for interviews.

Non-instructional roles require consulting a business official to ensure candidates are reachable and meet minimum training standards.
