Mustangs Might See New Hitting Cages In Spring

The Mount Markham Central School District Board of Education met Tuesday night to discuss new business.
MMCSD Athletic Director Phil Keida gave a presentation on the 2025 Spring Athletics season and planning for the 2025 Fall Season.
Keida congratulated the Varsity teams for their various seasons, highlighting the Softball team and their CSC Championship.
Keida said participation in modified sports was up for all sports, and there was a 32% participation rate for spring sports.
Six teams were named Scholar-Athlete Teams and 48 students were named NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athletes.
Keida held a discussion about coaching requirements. The Board held a discussion about purchasing a batting cage for use by the baseball and softball teams. Interim Superintendent Dave Langone thanked Cedar Lake Golf Course for hosting the MM Golf program this year.
Boardmember Tom Huxtable spoke about the importance of the Rural Schools Program for Mt. Markham.
The Board approved a resolution appointing Nicolette Burgess as the Middle School Dean of Students.
The Board approved a resolution appointing Burgess as the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support Specialist.
The Board approved a resolution accepting the resignation of Brandon Ball.
The Board approved a resolution accepting the resignation of Abigail Garrison.
The Board approved a resolution accepting the resignation of Levi Jennison.
The Board approved a resolution appointing Michael Collins as a Physical Education Teacher.
