Mustangs Lose In Sectional Final

The Mount Markham varsity football season ended Thursday night against Dolgeville 49-8 in the Section 3 Class D Final at the JMA Wireless Dome.


This was the second year in a row the Mustangs lost in the championship to Dolgeville, which has won four straight titles.


The Mt. Markham kickoff to start the game was returned 20 yards before Caden Walker made the tackle. Dameon Case made the tackle on 1st & 10 after a five-yard rush.


Eric DeKing made the 2nd & 5 tackle after a six-yard rush.


Evan Kocienda and Casmere Lanaux made the tackle on an 11-yard run on first down.


DCS rushed for seven yards before Christian Jones made the tackle.


Jones and Lanaux made the tackle for a loss of two yards on 2nd & 3.


DCS rushed for a 36-yard touchdown on 3rd & 5.


Jones made the tackle on the two- point conversion attempt for a 6-0 DCS lead 9:03 to play in the first quarter.


Trevor Lockwood returned the DCS kickoff 18 yards. Jones rushed for three yards on first down.


An incompletion on third down led to a punt downed for no return on fourth down. Kocienda made the tackle on a seven-yard rush on first down.


John Terns and Kocienda made the tackle after a five- yard rush on 2nd & 3.
