Under rain and clouds in the morning, and some sun later in the day, the area observed ceremonies on Memorial Day to honor the fallen. In Waterville, speaker Dan Nichols, son of a Vietnam veteran, talked about Waterville’s involvement in wars throughout history, including the loss in 2008 of Waterville graduate Cpl. John Sigsbee in Iraq. In Clinton the American Legion and VFW had two ceremonies, including the wrath laying in the Village Green. Oriskany Falls and Deansboro also held tributes to those who gave their lives. More photos, Page 7
