The October meeting of the Marshall Town Board opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, the approval of the minutes of the September meeting, and the special meeting Oct. 1 to discuss the proposed expansion of Eric Schachtler’s quarry on Shanley Road.
Supervisor Colleen Baldwin announced the recognition of guests.
The first to speak were Jim Sullivan and Lori Alderwick from NBT Bank about investing in Money Market accounts.
Sullivan works in the government banking department of NBT, and explained how the Town of Marshall’s funds would be protected, should they invest.
He defined the program IntraFi ICS, which spreads the money around to other banks to give better returns.
The Town can open more than one account, if needed he said.
No action was taken on the presentation.
VanHyning Road resident Deb Turner asked for an update on the situation with Dan Williams’ businesses on that road.
Baldwin responded that CEO Gary Schreppel said Williams had six violations andhehadtotheendofthe month of October to reply.
The Planning Board met but reached no decisions on the business at hand.
The Zoning Board of Appeals met Sept. 11.
