Major Leak Fixed In Bridgewater

The Town of Bridgewater Board met Thursday, Oct. 9 night to discuss new business.


The Board approved a resolution approving the September meeting minutes.


Zoning Board Chair Diedra Williams said the Zoning Board has short-term rentals training on Oct. 23.


The Board held a discussion about what classifies as short-term rentals.


Codes Officer Pat Baron discussed the collapsed property on Route 20, saying the owner is being given time to sell the property.


Town Assessor Patricia Terns said the Assessor's Office is still waiting on the computers to be reconnected.


Jerry Perry said the Water Department found the major leak the department has been searching for.


The leak is under a stretch of road on Route 8 and they are looking to place a sleeve along that length of pipe.


Destinee Davis said the Planning Board's next municipal training is Oct. 23.


Roselle Wheeldon said the dog registration project is going well.


Every due payment for September was paid with no carry overs.


The Board held a discussion with Davis and Wheeldon about Davis resigning from the Town Clerk's position and Wheeldon resigning as Deputy Supervisor on the condition Wheeldon is appointed as Town Clerk and Davis is appointed Deputy Supervisor.


The Board approved a resolution to accept the resignations and reappointments of Davis and Wheeldon.


New hours for the Town Clerk’s office are Hours for the Town Clerk’s Office are Mondays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon; Thursdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon Boardmember Tom Meininger asked Town Attorney Matt Fanelli about whether town justices can waive the Town's minimum fee for violations.


Fanelli said the language in the law can be specified the fees are mandatory.


The Board approved a resolution to establish a flat fee for violations.


Boardmember Mike Pcola said the bidding process for the Western Star project has begun.
