The Town of Kirkland Board met Wednesday evening to discuss new business.
The meeting began with the opening of a Public Hearing for Local Law No. 1 of 2023: Real Property Tax Law 487(8): Opting out of the exemption from taxation for certain energy systems.
The Board then introduced Local Law No. 2 of 2023: To amend the code of the Town of Kirkland, Chapter 118, Article VI thereof entitled, Antennas; Solar and Wind Energy Systems.
The Board approved a resolution to set a public hearing for Local Law 2 of 2023 for Feb. 27.
The Board approved a resolution authorizing the Town to enter into an agreement with Community Leasing Partners for up to $640,000 for five years at an interest rate of 4.47%.
The Board approved a resolution for the Town of Kirkland to lease two 2023 Volvo VHD Chassis through the lowest bidder, Community Leasing Partners, Manhattan, Kansas for the amount of $640,000 for five years at an interest rate of 4.47% with the first payment due at delivery estimated to be April or May.
