Kirkland Board Hears Numerous Requests

The Town of Kirkland Board met Monday evening to discuss new business.


A resident requested drainage basins in Clark Mills be cleaned of foliage.


Highway Department Supervisor Jon Scott said it was on the list of things to trim.


A resident asked about the retention pond behind CVS since it hasn't been cleaned and the water is starting to run towards McDonalds. Another resident said the owner hasn't kept the pond clean as agreed upon.


Town of Kirkland Supervisor Bob Meelan said the Town would not go on to private property and they would check with an Attorney for legal recourse.


One resident complained about LED lights installed in a parking lot being too bright.


The Board approved a resolution authorizing the Budget Director to make transfers and amendments.


There was more discussion between the residents in attendance, Scott, and the Board about potential flooding issues and steps the residents wanted to see taken to stop the problem before it starts.


Meelan welcomed new Administrative Assistant Breana Young and thanked her for a job well done so far.


The Board approved a resolution approving the July 19 meeting minutes.


The Board approved a resolution authorizing the Budget Director to make the mid-year amendments and transfers.
