Finn’s Fighiet

A Waterville family raised nearly $1,000 at a fundraiser event recently. Ashley and Colin Kelsey’s son Finnegan was born last year with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. HIE is newborn brain damage caused by lack of oxygen and blood flow. Money raised during the event called Finnegan’s Fighiet—emphasis on HIE in the spelling—will go to families with a child born with HIE or families in the neonatal intensive care unit at Albany Medical Center, where Finnegan received care, to facilitate gift card distribution. Funds are also being donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. Finnegan’s Fighiet benefit took place at MKJ Farm in Deansboro and featured a food truck, activities for kids, live music and raffle prizes. Waterville FFA members were also at the event with farm animals.
