The New York State Department of Transportation had a meeting last week to explain the upcoming road project in the Village of Clinton.
Over 60 residents attended to discuss the current status of the project and have questions answered.
Public Information Officer for the New York State Department of Transportation Region 2 Heather Tehan reviewed the reconstruction of the intersection at College Street.
Tehan said "511 New York" would be the best source to find weekly updates while the project is underway.
The project limits are 300 feet East of the Oriskany Bridge on Route 12B and 200 feet West of the Route 12B intersection.
A detour will be placed after July 4 with that part of the project expected to take about six weeks until mid-August.
A member of the public asked necessity of the detour.
The reason for the project is because of the pavement condition and the State is looking at other portions of the right of way.
The curving sidewalk, and drainage issues identified need to be addressed.
