Columbia Buys New Loader

After considering some options for paying for it, the Columbia Town Board decided how to purchase a new loader.

Highway Department Superintendent Mark Buddle reviewed the choices at last week’s Town Board meeting.

Cost of the 2024 loader is $224,951. The trade-in value of the current loader is $190,000, leaving the Town to pay $25,251.

The Board had been looking at a lower out-of- pocket cost. Buddle said the Town could put the current loader on Auctions International and see if it could sell for more than $190,000.
