Clinton, Kirkland Consider Study

The Town of Kirkland Board met Monday evening to discuss new business.


Sharleen Machold spoke to the Board to give a Kirkland Senior Center update.


Machold said one of the doors isn't closing, and a work order was placed.


The bus trip to Lake George was well enjoyed and a trip to Old Forge is planned soon.


The Senior Center is getting a quote for replacing air conditioners.


A resident asked about the meeting minutes on the Town website, saying 2022 was unreadable.


A resident asked about a property in Clark Mills.


Town of Kirkland Supervisor Bob Meelan said the property was deemed unsafe, but Oneida County can't take ownership until it's delinquent on taxes for four years.


The Board approved a resolution approving the Aug. 11 meeting minutes.


The Board approved a resolution to approve the use of the Kirkland Town Park for the Clinton Fire Department's Lights Around the Park.


The Board approved a resolution agreeing to the Intermunicipal Agreement with CENTRO.


Village of Clinton Mayor Elizabeth Tantillo sent a request to the Town about building a new firehouse.


The Village is looking to fund a feasibility study.


The Board approved a resolution auditing the payment of bills.


The next Town of Kirkland Board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8 at 5 p.m.
