CCS Students See Positive Results From Phone Ban

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Monday evening to discuss new business. Nicole Chubbuck of D'Arcangelo and Co., LLP met with the Board to discuss the 2024-25 External Audit.


Chubbuck reported CCSD was given an Unmodified Opinion on Financial Statements with no Material Weaknesses, no Significant Deficiencies, and no issues of noncompliance.


CCSD Superintendent Christopher Clancy welcomed Cameron Dye, Dana Gogola, and Alyssa Pisano.


CCS Elementary School Principal Meggan Alt, Middle School Principal Amie Johnson, and High School Principal Ed Waskiewics spoke to the Board about how each building's goals will work towards accomplishing the District Goals.


CCS BOE Ex-Officio Student Board Members Antimo Pellechia and Alice Gaetano spoke to the Board about the Bell-to-Bell Device ban, saying students are more sociable, less reliant on technology, and louder throughout the school day.


Clancy thanked the CCSD Foundation for their donations for the ES Summer Program and the MS STEM Program. Clancy spoke about the BOCES Regionalization Plan.


Each of the 12 Component Districts for OHM BOCES will comprise a Steering Committee focused on developing Human Capital that meets the students' needs of wellbeing and support, while expanding equitable access to courses and pathways and overcoming access limitations and transportation barriers.


Clancy said the Capital Project is scheduled to be substantially completed by Oct. 1.


The ES Elevator and the Ornamental Door for the MS are expected to arrive the week of Oct. 6.


The Board approved a resolution combining and approving the consent agenda.


Boardmember Patrick LaVeck said the Policy Committee is reviewing each policy in the policy book, and the previous Policy Committee meeting's discussion focused on regulation 1120.R.


Boardmember Lisa Magnarelli said the Finance Committee met with Dr. Rick Timbs to review and discuss the debt service schedule. The projected timeline and scope for the next Capital Project was also discussed. ...
