CCS Students Earn State Seals In Biliteracy, Civics

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.


CCS Superintendent Chris Clancy thanked the voters for approving Proposition 1: Budget, and Proposition 2: Baseball and Softball Fields maintenance.


Clancy congratulated the reelected Board of Education.


Clancy then welcomed J'Nai Clark as a Special Education Teacher moving from another teaching position, and Nico Beyette as a Cleaner.


Students were honored for receiving the State Seal of Biliteracy and Seal of Civic Readiness commendations.


Seventeen students were awarded the Seal of Biliteracy.


Juliana Bean, Molly Call, Brian Chang, Vincenza Constantino, Natalie Cortright, Charlotte Gale, and Jack Wratten were awarded the SB in French.


Gavin Kapes-Van Slyke and Claire Mumford were awarded the SB in Mandarin. Martin Amuso, Ella Brehaut, James Dillon, Samuel Hepler, Jeffrey Knight, Addison Krause, Julia Nessel, and Ryan Squires were awarded the SB in Spanish.


Fifteen students were awarded the Seal of Civic Readiness. Amuso, Brehaut, Sarah Butcher, Constantino, Cortright, Dillon, Alice Gaetano, Gale, Claire Mihm, Olivia Orlowski, Leah Randall, Margaret Reardon Gemma Spadea, Kapes-VanSlyke, and Wratten received the SCR.


Student Ex-Officio Boardmembers Alice Gaetano and Antimo Pellechia reported students are excited for the end of the school year.


Pellechia highlighted some athletic achievements at the Track and Field State Qualifying meet, where Jason Leonard tied the school record in the Pole Vault and qualified for the state championships.


Scarlett Skye-Stanton broke the school record for the Triple Jump and qualified for the State Meet.
