CCS Reviews Year’s Goals

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.

The Board held a public hearing to discuss the Districtwide Safety Plan.

CCSD Superintendent Chris Clancy said the two changes to the plan are a more extensive training list for SPOs and information about the assessment of student or staff needs.

Clancy said the changes to the Code were removing redundancies, a section on corporeal punishment was removed, a student searches section was removed, a dress code section related to the Crown Act was removed, and new language specific to AI was added.

Clancy welcomed Krystina Race, Amanda Zdanowicz Julie Kallies, Kristie Schmidt and Mary Ellen Fitzgerald to the District.

Clancy gave a Capital Project update, highlighting the newly refinished Middle School Gymnasium floor, the roofing project at the Elementary School, the Theater lot and walkway from the playground to the parking lot, and the Baseball and Softball Fields work.

The Board held a discussion about the BusRight software newly installed on District buses this school year.

The Bus Pass feature allows the Transportation Department to communicate directly with families to relay route information and anticipated pick-up times.

The BusRight Parent App allows parents to see their child's route, know where the bus is along the route and receive notifications.

Families will receive more information from the District regarding BusRight before the end of September.

Clancy discussed the opening days' agenda, saying he was excited for the start of the school year.
