CCS Project Work Almost Done

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.


The meeting began with a public hearing to discuss the District Wide School Safety Plan.


Boardmember Patrick LaVeck noted the plan would be modified soon.


Superintendent Chris Clancy said a recently passed law would have schools provide better cardiac health events resources.


The regular meeting began with the CCS District Portrait of a Graduate. The portrait has goals for six categories in Academic Preparedness, Creative Innovation, Critical Thinking, Effective Communication, and Reflective and Future Focused Thinking.


Clancy welcomed and congratulated new staffing hires Karen Holton, Benjamin Getter, Drew Burdick, Carly VanAlstyne, Marie Jasinski, Drake Carnot, and Merissa Shaler.


The Multipurpose Turf Field C pavers will be installed by Aug. 22.


The Secondary Library is substantially completed and expected to be finished Aug. 29.


The Elementary School Kitchen renovation is on schedule. The ES Playground is substantially complete.


The EUPK Classrooms are substantially complete. The ES Elevator Installation structure is complete, and the elevator installation begins Sept. 2. Courtyard Entrance sidewalk bricks were removed because of deterioration.


The area is prepped for a concrete install this week. The Norton Avenue Parking Lot and Basketball Court lighting and grading is underway, with paving next week.


Roof replacement over portions of the Bridge Building is completed.


The ES Playground grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 4.


The Turf Field opening is Sept. 26 for Homecoming Weekend.


The Secondary Library opening is planned for the opening of school.


A Community Open House is scheduled for Sept. 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. with a tour of the new libraries, the ES Gymnasium, ES Cafeteria and Kitchen, the Turf Field, and the Playground.


Assistant Superintendent Michelle Gabree-Huba spoke about the Destination Excellence Opening Days Agenda.
