CCS Outlines Budget

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.


CCSD Superintendent Chris Clancy began the meeting saying, "I want to acknowledge, recognize, and congratulate Erin Eagan on her tenure recommendation. She's really a gift to the school district and I'm happy to recommend tenure for her to you."


Clinton Middle School Principal Amie Johnson gave a Middle School building update discussing the building's focus on the joy of learning and student involvement through experiential learning opportunities.


Family and Consumer Services Teacher Miquel Grimm introduced the MS Cooking Club.


Students distributed M&M Sugar Cookies, and Buffalo Chicken Dip bites to those in attendance.


Johnson shared recordings of members of the Student Advisory Board discussing their positive experiences at Clinton.


Students highlighted feeling heard and teachers' efforts to make students feel like family.


They mentioned the opportunities for getting involved in the numerous clubs and teams around the school community.


When students were asked about what more could be provided, they said recreational equipment, improved mental health awareness, communications to students about why decisions are made, and ensuring no student is left out.


Johnson discussed the building's efforts towards project based learning across grade levels.


Sixth-grade students are focusing on learning collaboration and team-building skills.


Seventh-grade students are learning about the sense of community with the Longest Table event showcased as an example.


Eighth-grade students are learning the positive use of free time and how to enact positive change in their communities.
