CCS Candidates Introduced

The Clinton Central Schools Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.


Before the regular business meeting, the Board held a Meet the Candidates forum to introduce the community to the two candidates on the School Board ballot, Jennifer Giannone and Lisa Magnarelli.


Magnarelli and Giannone discussed their history living in the District and personal backgrounds.


Clinton PTA President Lisa Bronner moderated the discussion and asked the

candidates about their perspective on a School Board's role in enhancing

education, what each candidate felt were essential attributes to being a

boardmember, and what skills and experiences prepared them to serve on the Board.


Magnarelli described ensuring student success and providing a safe environment for learning, being an active listener and making decisions

in the best interests of the community.


She described her previous professional experience across various areas and her previous work with the Board as what prepared her to be a boardmember.


Giannone described having a good working relationship with the different

departments of the School District, her background in education, and her work

experience as a project manager prepared her to be a boardmember.


Business Administrator Ethan Martin held a Budget Hearing Presentation.


Martin highlighted key changes to the Revenue budget in a 2% increase to Foundation Aid of $147,870, a projected Building Aid increase of $956,098, and a Property Tax Increase of $448,127.
