CCS Adopts New Report Card System Standards

The Clinton Central School Board of Education met Oct. 26 to discuss new business.


Clinton Teachers Association President CCS Teacher John King presented the CCS BOE with gift certificates in honor of School Board Appreciation Week. King said his gratitude was shared with the rest of the CTA members with excitement for the Board's plans.


CCS Superintendent Dr. Stephen Grimm began the District Bright Spots by also highlighting School Board Appreciation Week from Oct. 18 to 22. He gave a short description of the work School Boards across the country do for their districts and presented gifts to the CCS Boardmembers: President Melinda Leising, Vice President Mary Lou Lauchert, Megan Burdick, Dr. Lyndsey Bauer, and Dr. Luke Perry. Kevin Magdon and Erica Shaw were unable to attend.


CCS Elementary Bright Spots from Principal Ellen Leuthauser began with Kindergarten through sixth grade students learning about Fire Safety from the Clinton Fire Department. Leuthauser thanked Jim Scoones and Eric Mosher for teaching the children about fire safety skills and spending time showing the firefighting equipment.


First graders are taking walks around the community to learn about Clinton and Social Studies skills.


Fourth grade students built volcano experiments to learn about the features of the Earth.


Third grade students decorated pumpkins as characters from some of their favorite books….
