The Village of West Winfield Board met this month to discuss new business.
The Board held a Meet the Candidates with Joseph Barletta and Dale Brown for the Winfield Highway Superintendent election.
Barletta spoke first, beginning by explaining his background in the community, education, and relevant work experience.
Barletta said as Highway Superintendent his main priority would be the safety of the community.
Boardmember Kylie Allen asked Barletta about any potential scheduling conflicts between the superintendent's responsibilities and his day job.
Barletta responded he is able to take as much time away from his job as necessary for the Highway Department.
Candidate Dale Brown spoke to the Board next, beginning with his personal background and professional experience.
Brown mentioned his work as the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Plainfield and that the responsibilities of that position are similar to the responsibilities for the Town of Winfield.
"As Joey has said, the number one goal is safety," Brown said. "I would be there with the guys helping them with anything that needs to get done."
