Budgets Pass

A line out the door to vote met many Clinton Central School District residents on school board election night in Clinton. In addition to the line at the CCS auditorium, voters waited longer to cast ballots as the counting machine was broken. Over 1,000 people voted in Clinton, with the budget passing 883-242 and the Kirkland Town Library tax passing 872-252. Elected to the two three-year seats on the Board were Lisa Magnarelli (708 votes) and Erica Shaw (712). Sam Catterson won the one-year seat with 612 votes. Also getting votes were Marie Constantino (457) and Mary Kay Vatalaro-Tyksinki (260). In Waterville, the budget passed 315-133. The bus purchase passed 327-119 and budgets for Waterville Public Library and C.W. Clark Memorial Library passed. Elected to the Board were Daniel Nichols with 382 votes and write-in candidate Peter Casatelli with 236 votes. Brookfield’s budget passed 65-19 and Dawn Brean was re-elected unopposed. Madison’s budget and capital project were both approved. Brett Reiter, Tobias Abrams and Jennifer Lavoie were elected to the Board.
