BOE Makes New Staff Appointments

At a special meeting last month, the Mount Markham Board of Education appointed Jason Sanchez as Director of Pupil Personnel.


The move came after accepting the resignation of Robert Bentley for that position. Bentley took an administrative position in the Clinton Central School District.


Ian Rotondi was appointed Senior Mechanic at the same meeting.


At the Board’s reorganizational meeting earlier in July, appointments were made for various school duties for 2023-24. Board members were assigned to committees.


Board members also approved a bid of $6.8 million, including alternates by Upstate Companies of Mount Upton for the Capital Project.


New member Kate Entwistle was sworn in for a three-year term. Pay rates for substitutes were set.


Board members also voted to extend the contract with Superintendent Joe D’Apice, who was hired three years ago. His contract was extended for five years through 2028.


The agreement with the Mount Markham Bus Drivers Association was approved for three years.
