The August meeting of the Marshall Town Board opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, and the approval of the minutes of the July, meeting, which was conducted by Supervisor Colleen Baldwin.
The first guest to speak was Eric Schachtler, who inquired about his request for a change in zoning.
Attorney Bill Schmitt said they are waiting for a response from the Planning Board and from the Department of Conservation regarding the SEQR (State Environmental Quality Review).
Once those reports are received the Town will proceed with a public hearing to adopt a resolution on the matter.
Colleen McGill spoke on the fact that, regardless of repeated inquiries, she has not had any response from the CEO Gary Schreppel about activities on Van Hyning Road.
Schmitt said he had met with the Planning Board chairman and the ZBA Chairman, which he termed the Review Panel.
He asked Schreppel about the violations issued to Dan Williams which expired July 26.
The Review Panel has created and will implement a form which must be filled out for any zoning change.
Once that is returned, it will be examined and a decision will be made.
His goal is to bring people into compliance, not to fine them. The application form was adopted formally by the Town Board.
Planning Board Chairman Dante Ruia was present, but there was not report; they did not have a quorum for the last meeting.
Debbie Zweifel Yaciuk reported for the Zoning Board of Appeals.
They met Aug. 10 but there were no issues before them.
Schreppel was not present, but his report was read aloud.
There were 10 issues which had been taken care of in the past month.
Most were for permits, but one was an Order for Remedy for 1927 Route 12B for junk cars, and one for accumulation of trash.
