Former Clinton Historical Society president Bob Tegart accepts a gift from the Society presented by CHS President Rose Raymond. Tegart was the guest speaker at the Society’s 60th anniversary dinner at the Skenandoa Club last week. Joanne Gilles spoke about the club’s new project to restore the sign and some stones at the Old Burying Ground. A silent auction helped raise funds for the club. The Hamstrings from Hamilton College provided music. Tegart spoke about the similarities in how Clinton and Bennington, Vt., where he lives, were settled in the 1700s.
