A long line and waits lasting hours met some Oneida County early voters on the first weekend they could vote in person. The first two day’s line at the Town of New Hartford Municipal Building, formerly Gander Mountain, stretched to the Marquee Cinema building. Near the two-hour mark of waiting, a police officer informed voters there was an issue with a machine, and there’d be about an additional hour wait. Some left after hearing that. After nearly an hour, a new printer arrived. The crowd applauded. Once inside the room where actual voting takes place, poll workers asked for ID. Barcodes on IDs and licenses were scanned. The early voting helped reduce the lines of people voting Tuesday on Election Day.
