Clinton Named A Recognition School


The Clinton Central School's Board of Education met last Tuesday evening to discuss new business and hold a workshop for the re-opening of Clinton Central School’s plan in September.

The public hearing began with District Superintendent Dr. Stephen Grimm describing the changes to certain laws related to the school resource-officer position. The hearing itself was now a mandatory step in the hiring process for resource-officers statewide.

The contract is now for a two-year term of employment instead of one year. "This is a very important step to take for the safety of the community," Grimm said. "If our schools are safe, our community is safe. We'd be nowhere without this community."

Clinton was named a Recognition School for 2020, having exceeded standards for ELA, Math, and other measures such as civic readiness.

The Sept. 11 Memorial Dedication will be 6 p.m. in the Memorial Brick Garden Sept. 11. A dedication will be made to CCS graduate Edward Felt, who was aboard United 93 when it crashed in Pennsylvania.
