The NCAA Hockey Rules Guide for 1968 had a picture of Tom Wheeler of Hamilton College on the cover.
Inside were rule changes for the coming season, results of games for every collegiate team in the country and team pictures of college and high school teams who had enjoyed successful seasons in the 1966-67 campaign.
Clinton High School was pictured and I became interested in the photograph when my father informed our family we would be moving to Clinton around Thanksgiving 1967.
It was the first time I encountered Jim Monaghan. Jim was in the second row next to Gene Philley. Both Philley and he had ‘A’s’ on their jerseys indicating there were assistant captains; Tim Hogan had the ‘C’ on his sweater indicating captain. The team’s record: 12-4-1.
