Sharing Kindness In Clinton


A Clinton Elementary student and recent winner of the Frank Santoli Award for Kindness continues to spread kindness outside of the classroom.

Rising sixth-grader Emily Roy was recognized in school for the everyday kindness she brings to CCS. The Frank Santoli Award for Kindness was initiated by Mr. Santoli’s wife, Genevieve Santoli,during the 2015-16 school year.

Santoli was a science teacher at Clinton Middle School from 1968-86 who believed in celebrating his students’ passions and changing his community and world through small, genuine acts of kindness, according to the description of the award.

Students who win this award display “strength of character, good citizenship, and kindness exhibited on a daily basis’’. Along with the distinction of winning the award, each student receives $50 to use toward a service project.

“I was really happy when I heard,” Roy said, “because last year I got nominated for it.” She is the daughter of Bryan and Beth Roy of Clinton.
