New Owners At Clinton Store


A staple Clinton store has changed ownership.

Tom’s Natural Foods at 16 College St. opened June 2 with new owners at the helm of the village health food store.

Previous owners Tom Bell and Bonnie Wood have retired. “It’s time for Tom and Bonnie to enjoy their retirement years,’’ they shared on a Facebook Post. “We would like to thank you all for supporting a small, local, family-owned business in an ever-encroaching impersonal big business world.”

Bell and Wood said many people already know the new owners. “We’re confident, with your support, they will be successful and welcomed into the community. We will miss you all, but are sure we’ll see you at the Farmer’s Market or with masks on waiting in line at the fish truck.”

The three local residents who took over ownership of the store are Jason Townsend, Nancy Morelle and Andrew Sblendorio.

Townsend, a Clinton resident, is the owner of Kingfisher Farm, a certified organic vegetable and fruit farm in Sauquoit. Sblendorio helps at Kingfisher Farm. Morelle is the co-owner of Old Path Farm, a vegetable farm also in Sauquoit.

Morelle worked at Tom’s Natural Foods for a few years.
