Flooding Topic At Marshall Meeting


The February meeting of the Marshall Town Board was called to order and the minutes of the regular Jan. 14 meeting and the special Jan. 28 meeting were approved.

Jim Younes of Route 315 spoke about the meeting with Oneida County officials, various villages, and the Town of Sangerfield regarding flooding. Marshall Supervisor Andy Williams and Highway Superintendent Bob Welch both attended.

It was stated at the meeting that the creek from California Road to the back of the Salvaggio house and that of Steve Kemp’s on the west side of Route 315 was cleaned. Younes said that was not true as nothing has been cleaned behind his house, Roger Frye’s house, or Michael Schaaf’s house.

He said trees 15 to 20 feet high are still in the creek. The debris was not moved to the banks. In fact, Younes said, nothing was touched “from the Frye’s up.”

Younes said the residents who live in his area of Route 315 appreciate all the Board has done to help the flooding situation.
