Warriors Fall In Overtime 55-50


Clinton’s boys varsity basketball team takes a 14-6 record into the playoffs after a loss in overtime on their Senior Night last Friday.

Canastota broke into the scoring column first with two baskets in the opening minute to make it 4-0. Eddie Llanos scored first for Clinton with a double-clutch layup but Canastota answered with a 3-pointer.

Llanos fed Alex Mancuso for a layup before getting another layup himself off a pass from Evan Wilcox. Canastota made a layup and Clinton answered with a missed shot.

Josh Wilcox picked up a steal leading to a Tanner Deveans’ offensive rebound. Deveans was fouled and made a free throw to make it a two-point game at 9-7.

Brody Glindmyer grabbed a defensive rebound but Clinton turned it over. Canastota made two free throws and a layup to push the lead and force a Clinton timeout.

Deveans made a jumper and Canastota turned the ball over. Llanos was fouled on a rebound and Clinton had the inbounds with 8.3 seconds left in the first. Griffin Seymour swung a pass to Glindmyer at the right wing, and Glindmyer banked in a 3-pointer to give Clinton the lead to end the first quarter 14-13.
