Warriors Beat Canastota 51-17


Clinton’s girls varsity basketball team played a solid four quarters and roared by Canastota 51-17 in a league game.

The visiting Raiders had their biggest quarter in the second by scoring 7 points. Otherwise, the Warriors defense shut down the offensive opportunities.

Senior Hanna Morse led the Clinton offense with 17 points and Gianna Trunfio scored 12. Mariah Seward scored 9, Megan Bremer 5, Elizabeth Wratten 4, and Ella Morse and Kaitlynn Williams 2 each. Hanna Morse hit three 3-pointers.

Clinton continued its winning ways with a hard effort in the first round of the Richfield Springs Tournament, beating the hosts 49-43 to improve to 3-3. The second game was to be played Monday. Trunfio scored 17 and Hanna Morse to lead the offense. Morse had three 3-pointers. Seward scored 7, Ella Morse 5, Megan Bremer 2 and Elizabeth Wratten 4.

Brookfield boys:

The Beavers dropped a league game to McGraw, 60-39.

Kodie Abrams scored 20 points to lead Brookfield. Caleb Worden scored 6, Jonah Rogers 5, Preston Crespo 4 and 2 each from Derrick Winfield and Kaden Ondrako.

Madison boys:

The Blue Devils remained unbeaten by winning their fifth game, 56-35...
