The Clinton girls varsity hockey team picked up their second win of the season last week at home against Alexandria Bay Friday night.
The Warriors used a three-goal second period to take the win 3-0.
The defenses for both teams showed up to work but the Islanders were on the back foot through the first period. A few minutes into the game, Clinton started peppering the Islanders goalie with shots.
She made some spectacular saves to keep the tie, and both teams killed penalties in the period. Shots from Abigail Kurdziolek, Briana Rockwood, Kelsey Fuller and Ariel Williamson were all saved in the first, but Clinton outshot the Islanders by a wide margin.
The second period didn't stay tied for long as Perri Cronk scored the game's first goal to give Clinton the first lead. The Islanders goalie quickly made a point-blank save on an Elena Calicchia shot that led to both players high-fiving after the play.
