Times Radio Interview: Crystal Maury of Signature 81

On this week's Times Radio, we sat down with local business owner Crystal Maury.

Maury is the owner of Clinton-based shop Signature 81. Signature 81 is a store that sells items made by local artisans. The store features all kinds of art, including vintage and repurposed furniture.

Recently, the Waterville Times reported that Signature 81 was making the move from College Street to West Park Row in the Village of Clinton. Maury was able to expand her business from a 1,200-square-foot space to a 4,000-square-foot location. The address of Signature 81's new spot is 11 1/2 West Park Row.

Maury spoke with us about Signature 81's new spot.

Maury said that it's great having her business in Clinton because of the supportive community.

One aspect of her business that Maury loves is the ability to promote the artists she features in her store.

Although there has been a few construction headaches at the new location, Maury expects to be open by next week. She said she'll definitely be open for Clinton's Shoppers' Stroll. The annual Stroll in Clinton takes place the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving every year. The event is a great way to show off everything Clinton has, like locally owned businesses.

Maury spoke about being a local business owner.

Maury discussed why shopping local is so important.
