The Kirkland Art Center had a full-day strategic planning session with members of its Board of Directors and management team Sept. 29. The first part of the day was a deep-dive into feedback from various constituencies and a financial analysis of the organization. In the afternoon, participants identified the organization’s top priorities for 2020 and brainstormed opportunities and next steps within those categories. “It was clear from our recent survey that Kirkland Art Center has been, and remains, important to so many people,” Board Co-President Damhnait McHugh said. “We made the decision to get laser-focused on building our capacity to deliver and expand programs for the community.” The KAC is building a tactical plan around the five critical 2020 objectives: enhancing the membership experience, deepening community relationships, developing collaborative programming, improving communication, and growing staff capacity.
