Clinton Pounds The Storm 47-24

After their tough initial showing in the state rankings last week against a good Canastota team, Clinton rebounded with a big 47-24 win over Southern Hills for their second road win of the season and fourth win overall.

The win keeps the Warriors in playoff contention as they wrap up the regular season Saturday at home with a noon game against Westmoreland/Oriskany. It will be their second consecutive game against a combined team; Southern Hills has players from Lafayette Fabius-Pompey and Tully, where the game was played Friday night.

Clinton took control early when their defense forced a third down interception on the first Southern Hills set of downs. Clinton's Tanner Deveans intercepted the throw and returned it 35 yards to set up the Warrior offense with good field position.

Switching to quarterback off defense, Deveans then took the next snap and rushed for 10 yards. Two two-yard rushes from Aiden Walter and Carter Hinderling set up third and goal at the one-yard line. Deveans faked the handoff and ran around the left side for the score.

SH took the kickoff and picked up a long first down on third down with a 30-yard pass and…
