The Clinton girls varsity soccer team ran Sherburne-Earlville off the field 9-0 last Wednesday.
It took about 20 minutes for Clinton to break through and start scoring. Then they barely stopped.
Later in the week the Warriors downed Skaneateles 7-0 to improve to 6 wins and a tie. They are ranked No. 3 in the state in Class B.
Sherburne did get a couple of shots on goal early and forced goalie Kaitlyn Williams to make saves. She made nine stops in the game.
It was almost halfway through the first half when Gwen Williams scored first for Clinton on a long range shot from the right side. She wound up and kicked it in to the upper left corner of the goal to give Clinton the lead at 1-0. Setting Williams up was Avery Maxam.
A few minutes later, Maxam sent the ball in herself...
