Clinton Warriors Stay Undefeated


The Clinton varsity field hockey team continued their undefeated run with a win over Little Falls 2-0 before tying Holland Patent at home last week.

Against Little Falls, Clinton found themselves going up against an aggressive and game team. The Warriors seized the offensive momentum early by finding two shots on goal in the first five minutes of play.

Goalie Sydney Bialek started having to save shots of her own halfway through the first half, but Clinton's defense often shut down the Little Falls attack before they could threaten a scoring chance.

Clinton wasn't able to move the ball easily. It was a slow process of working the ball upfield step by step as Little Falls fortified their defense effectively to not give Clinton any easy chances.

At one point Clinton spent a full four minutes working the ball from their side of the field, all the way into the opposite corner in Little Falls territory, only for a quick clear to negate all that progress in a few seconds.

Clinton just repeated the process and four minutes later Gianna Trunfio scored the first Clinton goal. There was a scramble in front of the Little Falls net for a loose ball and Trunfio stepped in and…
