How many school crossing guards and where they patrol falls entirely up to the Village of Waterville.
At last week’s Village Board meeting, Village attorney William Getman said he researched the state requirements for crossing guards. The village pays about $5,000 a year for the one guard at the corner of East Bacon Street to help students cross Route 12.
