A Life-Changing Adirondack Adventure


As she picked leaves and dirt out of the dropped bag of rice, Jenna Deep realized she was far from home.

“That was all we had for dinner,’’ said Deep, a freshman at Clinton Central School. “So you just picked out the parts you couldn’t eat.’’

Upset because he had accidentally injured an animal, Gabe Williams struggled to cheer up, hindered because everyone else on the trip was also having a bad day. “The guides chose that moment to bring out our present,’’ said Williams, a freshman at Waterville Central School. “It was Nutella and animal crackers. I was overjoyed immediately.’’
