The Clinton United Methodist Church organized the second annual Rise Against Hunger event. Rev. Jeff Hale said his church, Stone Presbyterian Church, St. James Episcopal Church and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church raised about $48,000, which helped fund 40,000 meals. These meals are placed into packets, they will then go around the world to places that are in need, especially children that are hungry. Almost 200 people worked in shifts at Clinton High School gymnasium to package the meals. Volunteers came from the churches, Clinton Lions Club, Hamilton College lacrosse team, Clinton Girl Scouts, Clinton High School and the community. Rise Against Hunger is one of the charities supported by Kraft Heinz, which brought attention to Clinton through the recent Hockeyville celebration.
