The Kirkland Town Board held a special meeting Oct. 1 to introduce the preliminary budget for 2019.
The appropriated budget for the year is $6,489,549 while the tax rate increases from $6.23 to $6.73 per assessed $1,000.
“There is a tax increase this year,” Town Supervisor Bob Meelan said. “We cut budgeting to go from buying two cop cars a year to one cop car a year.”
